
Carol Halford is entering her 29th season as the Head Coach of the Lady Eagles basketball squad. Her coaching record at WBC is 441-355. She holds the record for most career wins at Williams Baptist College.
Halford has the fourth most wins for active coaches in the NAIA. The women's basketball program has been a flagship in the athletic program during her time in charge.
After finishing as runner-up in the 1992 NCCAA Tournament, Halford led WBC to their only National Championship in 1993.
Halford was named NCCAA Coach of the year in 1993.
Halford served as Director of Athletics at Williams for 17 years and was voted as NAIA's District 17 Athletic Administrator of the year in 1992. In 1996 she was named as the Athletic Director of the year in the Trans-South Conference and the Mid-South region director of the year.
She was also voted as the Outstanding Athletic Director of the Year for the American Midwest Conference in 2001 and in 2004.
She has served on NAIA's Hall of Fame Committee and USA Basketball's Player selection committee. Halford served as an assistant coach in the 1990 Olympic Festival in Minneapolis, Minn.
She has coached over 50 All-Conference players and 6 All-Americans. Halford serves as the Chair of the American Midwest Conference Basketball Committee.
She is a Malden, Mo. native where she was a standout athlete in Basketball, Softball and Golf. After graduating in 1978, she attended Williams and was an All-Conference performer in basketball.
Halford completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education at Arkansas State University in 1983 and then completed the Master of Science in Health and Physical Education in 1984. She serves as the department chair for health and physical education at WBC.
