Walnut Ridge, Ark. - The Williams Baptist College Track and Field programs traveled to Greenville College in Greenville, Ill., over Easter weekend to compete at the Greenville Invitational. The Eagles finished in 12th place, while the Lady Eagles finished in 13th place.
The Eagles finished with nine points at the competition. John Fairris (JR/Strong, Ark.) led the way with a third place finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. He earned six points with a time of 10:58.
Three events earned a point for WBC. Matthew Bagby (FR/Bryant, Ark.) ran the 400 meter dash in 50.66 seconds to finish eighth, and garner a point.
The 4 X 100 relay team picked up one with an eighth place finish. Josiah Marlow (FR/Imboden, Ark.), Marlon Benevides (SR/Jundiai-SP, Brazil), Dmariyae Banks (FR/Searcy, Ark.), and John Guyton (FR/Blytheville, Ark.) combined to run the race in 45.30.
The Lady Eagles earned six points on the day. Hannah Roberts (JR/Maynard, Ark.) earned four points with a fifth place finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. She ran a time of 13:06, while Betsy Ryan (JR/Harrison, Ark.) scored two points with a seventh place finish in the same event. Her time was 13:18.
The programs' next meets will be at the American Midwest Conference Championships on April 29. They will be at the same place, Greenville College in Greenville, Ill.
