Walnut Ridge, Ark. - Nick Scott (SR/Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) was named American Midwest Conference Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Scott becomes the second baseball player from Williams Baptist College to be honored this year. He joins Layne Ditto (SO/Walnut Ridge, Ark.), who earned AMC Pitcher of the Week earlier in the season.
The senior earned the honor after posting a spectacular 1.000 slugging percentage for the week. He went 6-for-10 with a home run, double, and five runs batted in. He also stole two bases and scored four runs, while reaching base two more times on walks.
The Jacksonville Beach, Fla., native raised his season batting average to .375, and on-base percentage to .455. He is second on the team with 19 RBIs.
The Eagles went 2-1 on the week with a series win over AMC foe Harris-Stowe State University.
