Walnut Ridge, Ark. - The American Midwest Conference released the postseason conference awards on Tuesday evening upon the conclusion of the AMC Tournament for men's basketball. E.J. Rucker (SR/Newport, Ark. ) found himself listed as a Third Team All-Conference selection, while Travon Cobb (FR/Jonesboro, Ark. ) and Allen Earnheart (FR/Gideon, Mo. ) earned Academic All-Conference honors.
Rucker finished the year averaging 17.83 points in his 18 games played. He scored over 20 points on seven different occasions and only failed to reach 10 twice. He shot 44 percent from the field, 39 percent from 3-point range, and 89 percent from the free throw line. He also averaged four rebounds and 1.28 steals per game. The senior finished his three year WBC career with 1,253 points scored in 73 games. Rucker was named to the honorable mention team as a sophomore.
Joining him among the honorees are Travon Cobb and Allen Earnheart, who were named to the Academic All-Conference Team. This honor goes to players who maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and have been enrolled at the institution for a minimum of two terms. Both Cobb and Earnheart are freshmen.
Marcus Springer (SR/Memphis, Tenn.) was WBC's representative on the inaugural Champions of Character team. This award goes to the student-athlete who represents the five core values of the NAIA's Champions of Character initiative - respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
