The Williams Baptist College men's basketball team hosted William Woods University on Thursday night, in the SMC. Williams held a slight 43-39 edge at the end of the first half. The Owls would rally in the second half and to hold a 14-9 edge on second chance points and a 43-36 advantage on the boards. Stanley Malcom (SR/Chicago, Ill.)'s desperation three rimmed in and out with three seconds left, and Tevin Howard (SR/Luxora, Ark.)'s last second and heavily contested tip fell off the left rim as time expired to give Woods the one point comeback victory.
E.J. Rucker (JR/Newport, Ark. ) led the Eagles in scoring with 22 points. Rucker added six rebounds and went 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. Stanley Malcom finished with 19 points, five assists and four steals. Demoine Brown (JR/Luxora, Ark.) added 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor.
Williams faced a daunting task on Saturday, as the eighth ranked Cougars of Columbia College visited Walnut Ridge in WBC's final home game of the season. While WBC has taken out two top-15 opponents this season, the Cougars rolled to the 88-70 victory on Saturday afternoon. Columbia used a sizeable gap (41-28) on the boards and shot a blistering 60 percent from the floor as a team to take the game.
Tevin Howard had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds for WBC. Rucker contributed with 14 points and Aaron Hamby (SR/Malvern, Ark.) was the only other Eagle to reach double-figures with 12 points.

The next match for the Eagles will be against the Spartans of Missouri Baptist University on Thursday, February 25. The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start in St. Louis, Mo.
