Walnut Ridge, Ark. - Williams Baptist College has announced the addition of indoor and outdoor track and field to its growing athletic program. The addition of men's and women's track and field will bring the total number of varsity sports at WBC to 14.
"We are excited about this addition to our running program. This addition will make our institution more attractive to distance runners who can compete in both the spring and fall. I am excited to see Coach Andrew Watson develop the programs," summed up Director of Athletics Jeff Rider.
Rider announced that in the beginning stages, the programs will focus on distance running. They will begin competing during the 2016-17 school year. He also announced that current cross country coach and Director of Admissions Andrew Watson will lead the programs.
