Walnut Ridge, Ark. - On Thursday night, Williams Baptist College women's basketball team hosted Lindenwood University-Belleville for its opening game of the 2015-16 American Midwest Conference schedule. Williams used a second half rally to win its fourth consecutive game by a final of 69-64.
The Lady Lynx held a 21-12 edge at the end of the first quarter and a 37-28 lead at the end of the first half. LU-B was hot from behind the arc, nailing 9-of-23 in the first frame.
WBC would mount a comeback in the third quarter, outscoring Lindenwood 20-13 in the third period. The Lady Eagles took a 62-60 lead late in the fourth quarter to complete the rally.
As a team, Williams out-rebounded LU-B 51-36. Both teams shot an identical 25-of-66 from the field.
Alytrius Perry (JR/Marked Tree, Ark. ) led all scorers with 21 points. She also added six rebounds. Da'Monique Brown (SO/Luxora, Ark. ) finished with 14 points, Porche Hall (SR/Wynne, Ark.) added 12 points and Jasmine Ford (SR/Little Rock, Ark.) contributed with 10 points. Brown, Ford and Hall all added nine rebounds, respectively.
The Lady Lynx were led by Rilea Huff's 20 point effort. Kindra Brown added 18 points and Torre Kohrmann finished with 13 points.
Williams improves to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the AMC. The next game for the Lady Eagles will be a conference match against Harris-Stowe State University on Saturday, November 21. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m., in WBC's Southerland-Mabee Center.
