Walnut Ridge, Ark. - The seeds have been announced for the 57th annual Williams Baptist College high school basketball tournament, which begins on Saturday, November 28. Defending champion Pocahontas has been selected as the top seed for the girl's set, while Westside claims top honors in the boy's section.
This year's tournament has two new additions with the Bay senior girls and Rector senior boys joining the field.
The top seeds in the girl's bracket are: (1) Pocahontas, (2) Bay, (3) Marmaduke and (4) Southside. These four seeds receive a bye in the first round. They are followed by (5) Tuckerman, (6) Corning, (7) Maynard, (8) Sloan-Hendrix, (9) Viola, (10) Walnut Ridge, (11) Westside and (12) Hillcrest.
The top four seeds in the boy's bracket will also receive a bye: (1) Westside, (2) Walnut Ridge, (3) Pocahontas and (4) Riverside. Rounding out the rest of the boy's teams are: (5) Sloan-Hendrix, (6) Tuckerman, (7) Rector, (8) Marmaduke, (9) Viola, (10) Corning, (11) Maynard and (12) Hillcrest.
