Walnut Ridge, Ark. - The Williams Baptist College women's cross country team traveled to Little Rock, Ark., on Saturday to compete in the UALR Invitational. The Lady Eagles finished with a team average of 19:56 in the event, which was the best average in program history.
Betsy Minkler (SO/Bakersfield, Mo. ) led the team with a personal and school record of 18:30. The time was good enough for 22nd place. Minkler improved her personal record by 32 seconds from last week's meet, in which she won the event.
Addy Swaim (SO/Vilonia, Ark. ) finished 28th and set a new personal record with a time of 19:06. Hannah Roberts (SO/Maynard, Ark. ) finished 38th with her personal record of 19:43. Kristen Smith (FR/Bono, Ark. ) was the fourth WBC runner across the line, finishing 59th with a time of 21:03. Betsy Ryan (SO/Harrison, Ark. ) (21:17, 62nd) rounded out the top-five times for Williams.
Finishing out the table for the Lady Eagles were: Breana Roberts (FR/Maynard, Ark. ) (22:27, 69th), Lauren Garrison (SO/Batesville, Ark.) (22:36, 70th), Rachel O'Bryan (JR/Cleveland, Texas) (23:53, 74th) and Andrea Gayton (FR/Batesville, Ark. ) (24:58, 82nd).
The next event for Williams is the St. Louis Fall Cross Country Classic. The event will be held on St. Louis on Saturday, October 24. This is the last regular season meet for the team this season. Start time is TBA.
