Walnut Ridge, Ark. – The Williams Baptist College men's basketball team fell to the 16th-ranked Cougars of Columbia College by a final of 61-43. The game was played on Saturday afternoon in WBC's Southerland-Mabee Center.
Tight defense was the theme of the game as neither team shot over 40 percent from the field. Columbia held a 33-25 lead at halftime before outscoring Williams 28-18 in the second period.
Columbia (18-3, 11-2 AMC) was led by Tanner Sutton and Zach Rockers. Both scorers posted a game-high 16 points in the contest.
Williams falls to 9-8 overall and 8-5 in the AMC. The next game for the Eagles is against the Spartans of Missouri Baptist University on Thursday, January 29th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., in St. Louis, Mo.
