Walnut Ridge, Ark. –The Williams Baptist College Eagles basketball team faced formidable American Midwest Conference opponent Columbia College over the weekend. The 7th-ranked Cougars proved to be a difficult match-up for Williams, as they walked away with a 68-37 win in Columbia, Mo.
The Eagles were held to only 24 percent shooting from the field, compared to 43 percent for Columbia. Neither team shot well from behind the arc, with CC going 4-for-19 and Williams only 2-for-21. WBC was also out-rebounded 52-41.
James McClain (SR/Covington, Tenn. ) led all Eagles scorers with 14 points and was the only WBC player to reach double figures. Tevin Howard (JR/Luxora, Ark.) had a game-high 13 rebounds. Columbia was led by Malik Ray with 15 points.
