Walnut Ridge, Ark. – The Williams Baptist College men's basketball team fell to the Wildcats of Bethel College by a final of 82-76. The match was played Tuesday night in McKenzie, Tenn.
Bethel held onto a lead during the first half, and was able to stop a late WBC comeback despite being out-scored 48-45 in the second half.
Tevin Howard (JR/Luxora, Ark.) was one of five Eagles who scored in double-digits in the contest. He led the team with 20 points, 11 rebounds and was 6-for-12 from behind the arc. James McClain (SR/Covington, Tenn. ) finished with 16 points, nine boards and five assists. Stanley Malcom (JR/Chicago, Ill.) (13), Aaron Hamby (JR/Malvern, Ark.) (12) and Abel Yekeh (JR/Newark, N.J.) (11) all tallied double-digits in scoring for Williams.
Caleb Hardy led all scorers in the contest with 31 points and he also racked up 10 boards for Bethel. Eddie Green was the only other Wildcat player to reach double-figures, scoring 12 of his own points.
