Walnut Ridge, Ark. – The Williams Baptist College softball team ranks sixth in the NAIA going into the 2013 NAIA National Championship round. The Lady Eagles will play third ranked Lee University on Friday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m. CDT. The game will be played in Columbus, Ga., at the same field where the U.S.A. women's softball team won gold in 1996.
Williams enters the tournament with a 44-7 record on the season. The team advanced to the National Championship round by winning its opening round bracket in Claremore, Okla.
WBC has been ranked in the top 15 for the entire 2013 season and has been as high as fourth. The squads record against rank team 8-1 on the season, including a perfect 5-0 against top 10 teams.
