Walnut Ridge, Ark. - Williams Baptist College's John Guyton (SO/Blytheville, Ark.) and John Fairris (SR/Strong, Ark.) finished in the top 10 individually at the University of the Ozarks Invitational. They led the Eagles to a third place team finish in the 8km race.
Guyton led the way with a time of 28:29, placing him in ninth. Right behind him was teammate Fairris, who came in 10th with a time of 28:35.
Next, Alex Van Herpen (JR/Mansfield, Ark.) and Justin Stevens (SR/McMinnville, Ore.) finished back-to-back. Van Herpen finished 16th with a time of 29:09, while Stevens finished in 17th with a time of 29:18.
Davis Fetzer (SR/Defiance, Mo.) ran the race in 30:42, while Brantly James (FR/Poplar Bluff, Mo.) ran it in 31:06. The final three finishers for WBC were Jackson Wafler (SO/Memphis, Tenn.) (32:00), Levi Yarbro (JR/Powhatan, Ark.) (32:48), and Noah Stoddard (SR/Paragould, Ark.) (37:28).
The team finished with 69 points, 15 short of second place, and nine in front of fourth place. There were six teams at the event.
The Lady Eagles will be back in action next Saturday, Oct. 14, at 10:00 a.m. They will compete in Little Rock, Ark., at the Little Rock Invitational.
