Walnut Ridge, Ark. – The girls of Marmaduke won the 2012 WBC Tournament on Saturday with a 49-33 victory over Pocahontas, and on the boys' side, the Screaming Eagles from Hillcrest High School beat Viola 59-50 to capture the tournament crown.

The Lady Greyhounds' won their second straight WBC Tourney championship, and their eighth in tournament history.   They were led in scoring in the final game by Sidnee Bopp with 21.  She made five 3-point field goals in the contest.  Whitley Boggs also reached double-figures with 13.  The runner-up Lady Redskins from Pocahontas were led in scoring by Courtney Baltz with 12.

Colman Evans led Hillcrest with 18 points in the final, followed by Zach Doyle with 14.  The Screaming Eagles made 17 of 25 free throw attempts in the final.  Viola finished the as the tournament's runner-up, and Quentin Houghtaling led all scoring in the final with 24 points for the Longhorns.

The girls' sportsmanship award went to Corning High School.

The boys' sportsmanship award went to Sloan-Hendrix High School.

All-tournament teams and sportsmanship awards are selected by a vote of tournament coaches.
