Walnut Ridge, Ark. - The American Midwest Conference announced the 2017 baseball award winners. Three Eagles from Williams Baptist College were honored. Seth Hart (SR/Sedgewick, Ark.) and Kagen Brown (JR/Jonesboro, Ark.) were named Second Team All-Conference, while Nick Scott (SR/Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) was on the Gold Glove Team.
Seth Hart finished the season with a .335 batting average. The senior from Hoxie, Ark., hit four home runs and drove in 28 runs. He had a total of 13 extra-base hits. He also managed 57 assists and 31 putouts from third base. He started all 52 games for the Eagles this season. Hart was an honorable mention all-conference as a freshman.
Kagen Brown finished the season with a .352 batting average. His on-base percentage was .401. The junior from Jonesboro, Ark., scored 28 runs and 13 runs batted in on the year. In the field, he had 85 putouts from the outfield and three assists. He only committed two errors.
Nick Scott earned a gold glove by playing flawless defense at first base. He recorded 183 putouts and 10 assists for the year. He committed two errors on his way to a .990 fielding percentage. The senior from Jacksonville Beach, Fla., played in 48 games, while starting 46 of those during the season.
