




Claremore, Okla. – There was little evidence of jitters in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament for sixth ranked Williams Baptist College. The Lady Eagles softball team exploded with five runs before an out was recorded in the game on their way to 17 for the contest.

The Williams Baptist College softball team is headed back to the NAIA national tournament. The NAIA released brackets for the first round of the tournament Tuesday evening, and the Lady Eagles are headed to Claremore, Okla., to open play Monday, May 13th. It is the second year in a row for Williams to make the tournament.

The Williams Baptist College softball team has claimed honors for 2013 Player, Pitcher, Newcomer and Coach of the Year from the American Midwest Conference. The Lady Eagles, currently ranked 6th in the nation, also had six athletes named to All-Conference teams.
